Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI / MT)

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is a non-destructive testing method used to detect surface-breaking and near-surface flaws in ferromagnetic (magnetic) materials.

At WHE NDT, our experienced and fully qualified engineers carry out MPI on a wide range of components, including:

• Forgings

• Castings

• Machined components

• Weldments

This inspection method is highly effective for both newly fabricated and in-service components, providing fast and reliable defect detection.

MPI (also referred to as MT) is commonly used to verify weld quality and support CE / UKCA marking requirements, and can be carried out on site by our competent technicians.
